There's Shirl Greer readying the Mustang flopper for another round at Lakeland International.  Even tire covers have come a long way since then.

Shirl was a popular F/C racer from Georgia who surprised everyone in drag racing (especially Don Prudhomme) by becoming the first world champ under the then new points system. This was around 1974.
