Buick Roadmaster Armrest Installed in a Grand National

Roadmaster armrest in a Grand National

Ahh...comfy. This armrest was donated by a deceased '91/'92 Roadmaster with gray cloth interior. The color is a fairly close match and the material is really soft.

It replaces the factory Regal console lid and doesn't require any permanent modifications to either the armrest or the TR console..

A perfect compliment to my newly installed CD player, the armrest holds a bunch of CDs. If you are still using your cassette player, this section works as well. The tapes can fit in the same place, facing left-to-right.

That's my sunglasses case behind the CDs there.

The front of the armrest clears the ashtray which is nice if you have a switch panel in there.

Plenty of added storage.
Two much needed cupholders.

The front portion of the armrest flips forward to reveal a dual cup holder and spare change carrier. The armrest is positioned such that the open cup holder will not interfere with the shifter handle in overdrive.

The shifter is in the overdrive position in the photo.

Here is the factory mounting bracket from the Roadmaster. It is mounted just behind the rear of the Regal console for proper placement.

Tilts back to reveal original console storage.

The armrest tilts back just as it did in the Roadmaster to reveal the OEM console storage. Barely visible under the bottom of the armrest are the mounting brackets.

I fabricated these out of some extra bicycle training-wheel arms. They are fastened to the console using the two factory screws that retain the console to the floorboard.
