In Remembrance
Nationwide Insurance - A Thorn In Your SideOn April 19, 2006 my GN was stolen and subsequently stripped by by a bunch of lowlife jackasses. The car was recovered a couple weeks later and I took these photos that same day.

Nationwide Insurance, who I've had insure my home and three automobiles since 2002, had me send them my title around that same time along with all their claim forms. To make a very long story short; as of mid-November 2006 Nationwide still had my car, my title and my money. They low balled, stonewalled and did whatever it took to avoid paying a fair settlement. They are unethical, unprofessional & unfair, especially Paul Warmuth. In my case they were teamed up with a crooked appraiser (at Stated Value Automobile Appraisals, Fort Worth, Texas) who is so clueless/crooked, she reported that the stripped remains of my GN are worth $2500 and the insurance adjuster believed everything she said.

Look at this quip from Nationwide's Web site:

At Nationwide, we're working hard every day to meet the insurance and financial needs of our customers, at every stage of life. Whatever happens.

You can count on it. With more than $157 billion in statutory assets, Nationwide is one of the largest insurance and financial services companies in the world.

$157 billion in assets and they can't find it in themselves to fairly settle a sub-$15,000 claim? To add insult to injury, when I dropped their sorry asses, Nationwide had the gall to send me a $210.88 bill for some 'short rate' crap because it was midstream in my policy period. Of course they never received another penny.

I bought this T-top GN in the Spring of 1990 when it had 25,000 miles on it and was bone stock. It's been my daily driver ever since. The motor was freshened up at 110,000 miles due to a bum rod bearing. The block was just honed so the re-ringed, original pistons are still there along with 5 of the original rods. The GN now shows 230,000 miles on the clock.

Don't blow a gasket! The following RPO codes outline how Buick built my car on April 22nd 1987. Under PressureHere are the modifications that were in place the last time I ran at the track.

Hairdryers Rule! These modifications have been performed since the car ran 12.40 @ 108, but have not been tested at the track as of yet. It's been a while since it's seen strip duty.

got paint?

As my GN appeared in June, 2001 just prior to the new paint. Unfortunately, this is how the paint looked at the 2001 GS Nationals but at least we found some humor in it.
