1968 Pontiac Firebird

Momma and the late Ted dog going for a cruise.

This 'bird has been sold.

It's heading south to the Sunshine State. How appropriate.

Learn the great American sport of Wide-Tracking in a great American sports car.

We purchased this car in the spring of 1995. The interior was extremely rough. You could see the ground rushing beneath you looking right through the driver's seat cushion. Much time (& $) was spent refurbishing this car into a decent driver. Pontiac Historical Services provided a copy of the original invoice on the car from their archives which states the car was built 5/28/68 and the label price was $3909.66. It was built in the Lordstown, Ohio assembly plant. Click here for detailed information on the option codes, billing history and original pricing. The car was delivered to dealer 100 in zone 9.

The 16" wheels are take-offs from a 1993 Trans-Am. They made nice replacements for the rusty Cragars that came on the car. It took a spendy set of wheel adapters to bolt these on. The car has its original color schemes, solar red paint with an ivory white power top. We have redone the interior with the original red custom, comfort weave upholstery and new door panels.
350 Hood Emblem The original 265 hp. 350 engine was replaced with a 1972 455 before we got the car. The 350 intake and 2 bbl. were used on the 455. The motor is a tired, low-compression beast with 7M5 heads.

Other niceties include, power steering, tilt wheel, power brakes and center console. The car also originally had a remote driver's side mirror and console mounted clock but those items are long gone. The clock pod now houses a tachometer.
