SCIR Has Weekend Plans
Herb McCandless, at 25 a veteran of drag racing, will carry Memphis' hopes
this weekend at Shelby County International Raceway as SCIR entertains the
National Hot Rod Association's Southeast Division World Championships.
McCandless will pit his 1969 Dodge Dart against some of the nations finest
Super Stock competitors.
The action opens Saturday afternoon at 3 with record runs, time trials and
qualifying. Top Fuel eliminations get underway at 8:45 p.m. All
other eliminations will be run Sunday when the gates open at 10 a.m. with
eliminations at 2:30 p.m.
